The Gulf Coast Half Marathon on the Louisiana Northshore will offer 3 seperate times & locations to pick up your packet. This way if you plan to drive in on race morning you will already be ready to race!

Parking
There is plenty of free parking within Fontainebleau State Park. The $1 entry fee to the park is included in entry to the event. Simply follow the signs for parking.

It is suggested to arrive no later than 1 hr before race.

dogs
rollerblades/rollerskates

Coures time limit
There is a 4 hour course limit to complete the half marathon race (~18:00/mile pace) If you are unable to continue at this pace you will be helped into the SAG wagon and will be transported to the finish line. The SAG wagon will only leave after the last runner has crossed the starting line and will proceed at ~18:00/mile according to chip/tag electronic timing.

 
The Gulf Coast Half Marathon on the Louisiana Northshore will feature Mile Markers at every mile and 12 well supported water stations.

 

 

Packet Pick-Up Procedures

Participants must present a government issued ID to pick up race packet. Packets may be picked up on behalf of other participants. A copy of that participants photo ID is required and an acknowledgment will need to be signed.

This copy will be retained until the completion of the event weekend as proof of packet distribution.

There are no exceptions to this rule. If you wish to have your packet picked up by proxy the photo copy of your drivers license will be retained as proof of pick up.

There is No Race Day Packet Pick-Up


Post-Race Party fueled by Abita Beer
The post-race party will take place on the parade grounds directly in between the park pavillions. Starting at around 8:15am participants will be treated to some top shelf grub, Abita beer, and other assorted goodies.

One common complaint is that the awards ceremony never starts soon enough and that people have to wait around. Well in the spirit of fun we're changing the way it's done. The top finishers will be announced in our awards presentation starting at 10:00am and all other age groupers can claim their awards as soon as we wrap up with our overall awards. This way you can claim your award and never slow down the party!

All participants that complete the 2nd Annual Gulf Coast Half Marathon on the Lousiana Northshore powered by Varsity Sports will receive an awesome finisher medal!

Please note that all age group awards are based on chip/tag time, NOT gun time.
